Action Update - June 2001

DANCING IN THE LIGHT MINISTRIES IS BORN!

After a time of orientation, preparation, and prayer, six women took flowers to the ladies who work at Deja Vu strip club, while three men remained outside to pray. These gifts were delivered with a message of grace in the hope of demonstrating the heart of the Father. It is sometimes difficult for the ladies to believe that anyone would love them without asking anything in return. A few of the ladies were perplexed as they received these gifts of love. Still others gently stroked their flowers, accepting hugs from the women.

Dancing in the Light Ministries, a division of Citizens for Community Values, is planning another visit in the next month. We need donations to purchase items for small gift baskets for the dancers. (For more information call 509/921-2748.) Please pray that the number of women willing to mentor these young ladies will increase. Pray that the seeds of love and grace that have been planted will grow, taking root in the hearts of the dancers. Pray for continued favor as we send the message to the ladies that they are special, and they are loved.

TWO DANCERS ACCEPT CHRIST & CHOOSE TO LEAVE THE INDUSTRY!

Two young ladies were seriously injured in a car accident about two months ago on Interstate 90. When we found out they worked at Stateline Showgirls we felt led to visit them in the hospital. One of the women was in intensive care and we were unable to see her, however the other young lady had her own room and was willing to meet us. She accepted the roses we brought her and agreed to let us continue to visit her. We became fast friends and within a week she accepted Christ (May 12, 2001!) We continued to love on her and upon her release from the hospital she decided she would not return to dancing! Her friend was moved from ICU a week ago. We had the opportunity to visit the second young lady who invited Jesus Christ into her heart and life on June 15, 2001. She has now been moved to a rehabilitation facility for physical therapy and will soon be released to go home.

Please pray for healing, both physical and emotional, for these two young women. Pray that Dancing in the Light Ministries will continue to have favor as we move toward mentoring friendships with them. Pray for protection for both of these young women. Pray against all that would try to keep the seeds of the Kingdom from taking deep root in their lives.

God bless you as you continue in prayer for hope and healing for the hidden hurting.

CCV Spokane & Model Cities of America

Kimberly Drake is joined by Executive Directors from San Diego, El Paso, Long Island, Memphis, Pittsburg, Atlanta, Oklahoma City, Cincinnati and Utah.

CCV partnered with the Model Cities of America in March of this year, 2001. We would like to thank the National Coalition for the Protection of Children & Families for their ongoing support.

On March 1st and 2nd, 2001 leaders form 10 cities met in San Diego under the auspices of the Model Cities Project of the National Coalition for the Protection of Children and Families. Our goal was to increase our skill levels, share what is working in our cities and build relationships.

Tina Hammergren and Darcy Taylor, Vice President of Model cities, work tirelessly to provide assistance and education to those of us who have been called to make a difference in our communities.

Thanks, in part, to their efforts in Spokane, Citizens for Community Values of Spokane has gained national recognition as one of the leaders in the fight to protect the children and families from the secondary harmful effects of pornography and its messages. We are proud to be involved with such dedicated warriors!
